Kartepe is a mountain range south of Lake Sapanca, rising to 1,600 meters. In summer it's a nature park with picnic and walking trails; in winter it's one of the ski resorts closest to Istanbul.

How to get there
About 25 km / 35 minutes from Viola Resort. Winter tires or chains may be required during ski season — check the road and weather before setting off. Access is straightforward in summer.
By season
Spring brings calm, green forests. Summer is the most active season in the Nature Park — ideal for picnics. Autumn is probably the most beautiful for color. Winter is ski season (typically mid-December to early March, depending on snowfall).
